Cellphone Review: Motorola Razr2 V9
Motorola started the thin formfactor craze for cellphones with the Razr and looks to capitalize on that success with its next thin phone. Motorola is back with an improved Razr but does it have enough to warrant an upgrade?
First off, The Motorola Razr2 V9 is indeed a sexy phone sporting a black glass body with shiny keys and somewhat slightly wider profile. The glass like surface does attract its share of fingerprints but is sturdily built. It also has a built-in 2 megapixel camera that has some cool builtin effects. Take note that you can use the camera while the phone is closed acting like a digital mirror or to take a self portrait. The inner screen also holds some surprises, with a scratch resistant lcd that also supports 262,000 colors, and thus images look great as a result. They were bright, vibrant, and saturated with color. One minor complaint: Though you can adjust the backlight time, you can’t adjust the brightness or font size.
The external screen is nothing to sneeze at either. Measuring about 2 inches diagonally, the display is simply stunning, and provides the phone with a distinct look that sets it apart from the other models in the Razr Family. It also supports 262,000 colors, and photo caller ID is definitely supported. On standby mode, the date, time, signal, and battery strength are displayed, as well as background wallpaper. Also when in Music Player mode, 3 buttons appear on the screen that provide haptic or vibrating feedback and act as rewind, play/pause, and fast-forward/skip buttons. The Motorola Razr2 V9 also has HSDPA support plus a 2-megapixel camera, a music player, and good sound quality. No 3G though.
Some of the complaints i have with the The Motorola Razr2 V9 is that it has skinny/tiny side buttons and a really flat keypad. I would have preferred something that was provides more of tactile feedback. We also wished there were one-push access to the music player plus one for the speakerphone.
The Verdict? The Motorola Razr2 V9 is a great followup by Motorola to the first Razr. Despite a few minor complaints, The Razr2 has an extremely attractive design, solid performance, and an impressive feature set.

Verizon to Release Green LG enV
Behold the LG enV in all its drab military olive-ness. Ok, it’s not quite as sensible as the silver and black variant, or as blinding as the bright orange VX9900, but you gotta admit… it’s different. One might assume that, since they’re releaseing a new color variant, sales for the VX9900 might be quite good. This variant of the phone, which like its cousins sports a small display and the usual number keypad on the outside, but carries a bigger screen and QWERTY keyboard within, might do well in the jungle where it might be camouflaged, but we’re not to sure it would look quite attractive on the side of one’s face in the city. No release date has been mentioned as yet. Watch this space for updates.
